Through its vast contacts,
Amvest assists in identifying possible private equity investors
interested in a client’s particular situation. In some cases, they may
arrange senior and/or mezzanine financing. We evaluate potential
investors for compatibility, performance and track record.
Amvest will prepare the
necessary documentation, make appropriate presentations, and negotiate
the terms of the equity participation.
Private Equity investors
or investment groups provide the solutions to many situations. Private
equity investors play an integral part in providing the necessary equity
capital to complete the transactions particularly in the areas of
management buyouts of private companies or divisions of a corporation,
management buy-ins, recapitalizations, family succession, industry
consolidations and other acquisition or ownership transitions.
The equity
investors Amvest represents include: investment groups, insurance
companies, bank affiliates, pension funds, and endowment funds and
either have or raise funds ranging from $50 million to several billion
dollars. These investors generally invest funds in solid profitable
companies with good management teams. Most seek majority positions while
some accept minority positions. These investors look to management to
run the daily operations while providing support and strategic planning
at the board level. The equity investors’ mission is to acquire
companies that grow both internally and through acquisition resulting in
an appreciation of value. The equity investor recoups the initial
investment and makes a profit by exiting in three to seven years through
the sale of the company to a strategic buyer, financial buyer, or even
an initial public offering (IPO).
