with clients with sales from $10 to $500 million on the sell side and on the buy
side our clients will range from $25 million to several billion..
Amvest operates nationally and to
an extent internationally from its corporate office in Independence, Missouri,
through independent professionals and affiliates. Most professionals work from a
home office or a shared office environment. Because of the size of client
companies we deal with, it is very seldom that a client comes to our office. We
almost always go to the client.
We look for people with interpersonal skills, previous
company ownership or executive level managers preferably with experience in
acquiring or divesting a company, division or subsidiary and CPAs or attorneys.
Although experience is important, the right attitude, discipline and desire are

Most of the learning comes from
on-the-job training, generally working under the guidance of our President and
CEO and with other professional team members. Guidance and support is available
from the corporate office. When appropriate, someone will accompany you to make
presentations, sign up a new client, etc.
In addition a 3 day introduction
and training is given to new professionals joining Amvest at its corporate
office in Independence, Missouri.
Investment banking is a
high-work, high-risk, high-reward profession. The hours can be long but often
very exciting. You must be prepared for times of frustration when things fall
apart and the situation is out of your control and times of exhilaration when
everything clicks.
Success usually will depend on a
professional’s ability to communicate with clients and close transactions.
This means that every single day, the professional should be communicating with
potential new clients. It must be considered that about half of our clients
disappear after their company is sold.
A good network of contacts is
very helpful. This may be in a region or in a specific field. We generally
require a professional to specialize in a particular industry and 50% of his/her
time is spent working in that industry.
A good understanding of business,
an ability to ask the right questions and to understand a company, skilled in
negotiations and being able to communicate that information in Offering
Memorandums and other presentations are all very important.
An Amvest professional will spend
most of his/her time setting up transactions where one company buys another.
Amvest may represent the seller or an acquirer and this is Amvest’s and the
professional’s primary source of income. Our services are described more

This area cannot be emphasized
enough. A professional’s earnings will be a direct result of his/her efforts.
Persistence and a continual program of contacting potential clients everyday
will make a difference. As with any business, the more contacts made, the more
clients gained. A professional’s earnings can range from nothing to a high six
figures. Occasionally for a very dedicated professional, it would be possible to
earn into the seven figures. Earnings will be a direct result of an
professional’s efforts. No guarantees are made. If a professional were to
complete two transactions in a year, he/she would most likely earn in excess of
$150,000. It is also possible to work on a part-time basis under the right
circumstances.
